Dunes Digest: Where the land meets the water – Coastal wetlands in the Great Lakes

February 19 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Sliding scale fee of $1-$10 per person (collected at check). Bring a lunch and the Dunes will provide coffee, tea, water and a sweet treat. To register, email Jess at jessicaj@woodlanddunes.org or call 920-793-4007.

Called the “rainforests of the Northern Hemisphere,” coastal wetlands are one of the most productive habitats in northern latitudes. They warm up before the lake and serve as important spawning and nursery habitat for nearly three quarters of Great Lakes fish species. Wetlands, like the Great Lakes themselves, have changed over time, especially from human impacts, but wetlands remain important habitats. Join Fisheries Specialist Titus Seilheimer for a virtual tour of coastal wetlands and the current status of other Great Lakes habitats.
