Our mission is to preserve and restore natural ecosystems through responsible stewardship, education, and community engagement ensuring that native habitats and wildlife thrive for generations to come.
Our History
Woodland Dunes Nature Center and Preserve is an oasis of wildlife habitat, with portions considered globally significant by the Department of Natural Resources. The preserve, much of it formed on ancient beach dunes and wet swales, provides a haven for wildlife and people.
Woodland Dunes contains 1,500 acres of hardwood & conifer forests, wetlands, and prairies located between Two Rivers and Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
Take a stroll, have a look, and listen to the wonders that are found here. Our rare 14 ridges and swales are home and important stopover habitat to neo-tropical songbirds, Monarch butterflies, bats, amphibians, mammals and over 600 plant species. This rare land and its creatures attract thousands of people year-round and serves as an outdoor classroom for our educational programs.
